In the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, you may be concerned about returning to your acupuncture facility for services. However, there are measures in place to ensure the safety of patients and staff. Learn more about those measures below so you have peace of mind and are fully prepared for any changes to your typical visits.

Appointments required for fertility acupuncture, moxibustion therapy and more

To keep everyone as safe possible, you will need to make an appointment for whatever acupuncture or heat treatment you need. Appointments are necessary to control the number of people in the facility, which can prevent the spread of any germs, so drop-in visits are not permitted.

You must attend your appointment by yourself. No other people are allowed to be with you, including small children, because this will minimize the exposure risk of all patients and staff.

Screening is required

You will be asked to complete a COVID-19 screening questionnaire before you attend your appointment. The survey will ask whether you are currently ill or running a fever, whether you’ve traveled recently and where, and if you’ve been in contact with or were exposed to someone with COVID-19. Your answers will allow the staff to determine the level of risk associated with your visit and whether additional measures need to be taken to keep everyone safe.

Once you arrive for your scheduled appointment, you will undergo additional screenings. Your temperature will be taken before you are allowed into a treatment room. If you have any questions about how your appointment will proceed, please feel free to ask the staff for more information.

Protective gear must be in place

All patients have to wear a mask and sanitize their hands during their visit. If you are not able to get a mask or forget to bring one, the staff will provide a mask to you for your visit. Sanitizer is available at various points in the facility for your use if you do not have any or forget to bring your bottle with you.

Always wear your mask correctly, with both your nose and mouth fully covered, to help minimize the spread of germs. Wearing the mask incorrectly will not provide enough protection.

Staff and patients are encouraged to social distance as much as possible. Maintain a distance of 2 meters from everyone else in the facility as often as you possibly can during your visit.

With these new measures in place, you can feel more confident in returning to your therapies. Always visit the website of your treatment provider or give them a call to confirm the safety measures in place for your appointment. As the situation evolves, the precautions and protocols may change in response. The goal is to keep all of the patients and staff safe and healthy as the pandemic continues.
